=======================

North Korea’s infamous cyberhackers- the “Lazarus Group”- has apparently deployed a MacOS-based virus to gain access into cryptocurrency applications and exchanges, based on a report by Kaspersky Labs.

Lazarus first became popular in the year 2009 after launching a universal DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack against the Korean government in the year 2009.
The group also increased their fame after hacking electronics giant Sony in 2014 and stealing more than $15 million in 2015 from a bank in Spain. Recently, the group has propelled its first-ever Mac/OS-based malware, which is considered as 2018’s most notorious cybercrime–cryptojacking virus.
